1 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons oil
3-3 1/2 cups flour
1 package dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
HERB BUTTER
4 tablespoon soft butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon chives
1 teaspoon seasoning salt |
- To make herb butter, combine all ingredients together. Cover and set aside until needed.
- Heat water and oil to 120°F. In a small bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add liquid and kneed the mixture for 5-6 minutes. Gradually add remaining flour to form a stiff dough. Knead until smooth about 5 minutes.
- Punch down dough and roll into a 15×18 rectangle. Spread with herb butter to within 1 inch of edge. Roll like a jelly roll, pinch seam to seal. Place on a baking sheet. Slash the top several times. Cover and allow to rise until double.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°F and continue to bake for additional 20-25 minutes.
